Elliott Lockwood, Assistant Director

Elliott Lockwood attended Hastings College to study Music Composition and Technology with an emphasis in piano. He's been the Music Director at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Island since 2009. He's a piano accompanist at Grand Island Senior High for Mr. Vyhlidal's choirs, for which he also writes and arranges for show choirs. He is also a member of the American Choral Directors Association. Mr. Lockwood has a love for instrumental music and competitive school marching band. He is very excited to be a part of the Islander Marching Band!

The Grand Island Senior High Islander Band
The GRAND ISLAND SENIOR HIGH BAND, is a 180+ member ensemble that is very active in the community and around the state with Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Stage Band, Pep Band, Holiday Wind Ensemble and numerous smaller ensemble performances throughout the year. This 9-12th grade band has received numerous top awards and honors on the street, field and stage.
The Islander Band has performed at Disney World the summer of 2001, Sea World in San Antonio Texas in 2003 and in Disney Land/Universal Studios Anaheim, California 2005. The Jazz/Rock Ensemble was selected and performed at Branson, Missouri in 2001. The Islander Marching Band also supported the Nebraska Cornhuskers at the 2009 Konika-Minolta Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, FL. In the spring of 2012, the Islander Band will be travelling to Chicago, IL.
The Islander Band as ambassadors of Grand Island, annually perform in fall parades and field competitions across the state and have received top honors at every major contest in Nebraska. The Islander Band annually participates in the NSBA (Nebraska State Bandmasters Association) Marching Band Festival. The Islander Band currently has consistently received Superior Ratings at marching contests throughout Nebraska, and received all Superior Ratings during their Fall 2008 season.
The GISH Symphonic Band is quickly becoming recognized as one of the top performing ensembles in the state of Nebraska. They have been selected to perform at the NSBA Concert Band Festival in 1998, 1999, and every year between 2003 and 2011.
