Our History

The Grand Island Public Schools Foundation was formed in the spring of 1983 under the auspices of the Grand Island Foundation. The original foundation's purpose was to support an annual recognition program for long-term employees who were retiring and to assist a project to honor outstanding graduates, the Hall of Honor, at Grand Island Senior HIgh.

The Grand Island Education Foundation became a separate foundation in 1990.
