1920 - 1930 During this decade 4,099 people moved to Grand Island.
An airport was built in Grand Island, Nebraska. Consolidated Mill located here along with many smaller businesses.
1960 - 1970 The biggest growth happened with 6,616 people coming to our town.
Cornhusker ordinance plant reopened.
1980 - 1990 Another large increase, with 6,307 people coming to Grand Island.
Principal Financial, one of Grand Island's larger employers came to Grand Island.
The smallest growth occurred in these years:
1890 - 1900 The population grew by 718 people.

1970 - 1980 Only 822 people came to Grand Island.
