Tornado

On June 3, 1980, seven tornadoes hit Grand Island. Five people were killed. Two thousand people were injured. There was $140 million damage to property. The tornadoes lasted more than 2 hours.

1989

Jeff Richardson became a famous professional baseball player in 1989. He started playing baseball in Grand Island for Home Federal. He played baseball in college and then for the Cincinnati Reds team. He played Triple A Ball for them in five different teams. He was a good team player. His batting average was .396 in the Omaha series.
