A “winter count” was a way for the Native Americans to mark time from one generation to the next. They used pictographs that recorded important events in the life of the tribe each “winter” or year.
Our “winter count” will be a recorded history of the important events in the life of our 4th grade class. Each month, as a class, we will decide what event was most noteworthy. Class members will use pictures to represent the event.
We hope you enjoy following along with our class as we mark time during our 4th grade year.
