My Experience at Stuhr School of 1888

I am going to tell you my experience about schools of 1888 and their differences with schools of today. I liked the Stuhr Country School because it was fun to experience school in 1888. I liked when Professor Jobman taught us how to write with dip pens. In schools now we write with pencils. They had a different way of writing the cursive alphabet. They had a stove so they could keep warm and we have a heater system instead. In the old schools of 1888 the parents had to buy their books, now in the new schools taxpayers pay for our books.

There are also a couple of similar things that they did back then, and we do today like, spelling bees, Math, Spelling, Language, Reading and History. The bathrooms were called privies and now we have modern bathrooms. Also in 1888 they had to get water from the well and now in the new schools we have a sink in our classroom. We all study about presidents and they studied about presidents. They also had plays and we have plays. They had hardcover books and we have them too. If we were being bad we would get punished in the year 1888. We would get hit. Being bad now would mean we would have a consequence. We all had similar rules like raise your hand, be good, and talk nicely. That was my experience at Stuhr Museum School.
