We went on a tour to the Stuhr Museum to the School in 1888. At the school there you have to hold onto the sides of your chair and when you are going to read you have stand up and read. The bathrooms are outside. Their pens there are different than the ones we use because you have to dip the pens in ink. Different kinds of grades go in the same classroom there, at Dodge School we have different classrooms for each grade. At Dodge School when we do Math write on a piece of paper but in the school in 1888 they wrote on a chalkboard. Students in 1888 had to buy their books but here in Dodge you get to borrow them. There they have a stove to keep the room warm but here at Dodge they have heaters. I wish we can go there again sometime. |
